About Gretchen

I am a psychotherapist with a special interest in work with families.  My goal  is to help you create a family where both parents and children can grow to meet their full potential, becoming the persons they were meant to be.  I do this through individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, as well as  family therapy, parenting education and coaching. I have a warm, non-threatening style.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I hold a Master of Social Work degree with a specialization in mental health from UNC Chapel Hill.I have been practicing since 1986. Since that time I have worked in family service agencies, mental health centers, and elementary schools. I have also served as Clinical Instructor in the UNC School of Social Work. I bring to my work my passion for parenting and my personal experiences raising a family of two children who are now young adults.
