Growing Weary

I’m sensing a growing weariness among us. I sense it in my clients, my friends, family, and myself. Even the introverts among us are starting to unravel a bit. Nine months of increased isolation is taking its toll on us. Plus, it’s the holiday season which is a challenging season for a lot of people even in the best of times. This year it may be even harder than usual as families aren’t able to gather and financial burdens may be heavier. Also the days are shorter with less sunlight to help boost our mood. As human beings we are hard wired for connection. When we aren’t connected we suffer. Often that suffering is subtle, but it builds over time. If you are struggling you are not alone. If you are not struggling count yourself lucky and reach out. It may be time to call someone you haven’t heard from in a while. Schedule a zoom call with some friends that you miss. Send a card or flowers to someone who you know is alone this holiday season. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. We have to help each other hold on until we get there.
